Myreen Castro is a 3D artist with professional experiences across content creation and motion capture.

Her journey started at Auckland University of Technology (AUT), where she specialized in the field of digital design through visual effects. In 2019, she graduated with distinction and became a recipient of the school of Art and Design's VFX award, before briefly taking up freelance work during the pandemic.

In just two years as content creator for StretchSense, Myreen was able to bring transformative results to the motion capture company's brand identity, later featured by the likes of Forbes, ScreenRant and TechCrunch. She was a key player in product marketing efforts, using a wide range of performance capture systems (optical, inertial and stretch sensor-based) to create engaging 3D sequences inside of Maya and Unreal Engine.

Currently she is based in Wellington, NZ as a Motion Capture Tracker and Camera Technical Director for the renowned visual effects studio Wētā FX. She has been involved in motion capture stage operations onset, as well as downstream in facial and body tracking, and is now upskilling in plate-based rotomations (matchmoves) and camera tracking (spherical, anamorphic, stereoscopic). Her work is credited in the films Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024) and A Minecraft Movie (2025).
